Mari Reference

Personality: Frustrated; Falsely cheery; Passive-aggressive
Mari has some anger issues, which she tries to deal with by suppressing her rage and avoiding violence. She tends to fail. She's easily aggravated and responds to things that annoy her by smiling and ignoring them or smiling and cursing at them under her breath.

Blue Pokerus: Mari sometimes becomes genuinely calm and happy.

Held Item: Spell Tag (stuck to the back of her mask)

Background: Mari has always done her best to be a good little girl despite it being completely against her nature. She grew up imitating everyone around her and while she felt obligated to become one of the girly children everybody loved so much she ended up with the tastes of a tomboy. The result was a cute contest coordinator with...problems.
Mari genuinely enjoys contests, but it's hard not to think she'd have made a better trainer, given her extensive knowledge on the subject.

Someone once advised her that whenever something made her angry instead of lashing out she should clean something up. Because of this, her house is constantly very neat. If you mess anything up she may freak out. Since the cleaning thing has become more a habit than a coping mechanism she has resorted to finding a quiet place to practice for contests when she's mad. Except when she doesn't.

Etc: She can't for the life of her remember what the heck that mask is for, but it makes her feel nostalgic and a little sad. If somebody wears it she can possess them.
Her arms are arms and they work like arms.
I'm fairly certain she curses more than any of my characters.

Relationships: Has yet to develop any meaningful relationships. Or unmeaningful ones, for that matter.

RP Example: "Alright. Let's try this again." Mari shook imagined tension out of her hands and envisioned a crowd of spectators in the empty clearing around her. She smiled easily, though her eyes betrayed determination, and took a deep breath. "Monster in the Dark," she whispered, a purposeless announcement to herself. A dark haze began to leak from the corners of her mouth. It was slow at first, a stream of cold smoke gathering around her feet, but the stream shortly became a fountain and the fountain an obscuring cloud. It was only a moment before red rings of light began emanating from her body, lighting the haze in crimson flashes as she raised her hands over her head to use hex. A glowing red eye appeared above her, slowly rising on black tendrils to--anticlimactically fizzle into the haze, which was beginning to thin out considerably. Mari smiled and glared up as the last spark of her hex disappeared. "Dammit."
